Chapter I — The Recruit
Nobody in the Company of Heroes 3 ladder remembers Raptor's placement matches. There aren't any recorded. As far as the replay archives are concerned, he simply appeared in the top ten one Tuesday morning, already there, as if he'd always been there and everyone else had just failed to notice.
What people do remember is his first tournament game — a best-of-three against a seeded pro, played on Semois with the confidence of someone who had already watched the replay of his own victory. He opened with a Bersaglieri rush that broke every accepted timing rule in the meta, lost half his starting infantry doing it, and somehow came out ahead on territory control by the four-minute mark. Commentators called it a fluke. He did it again in game two. By game three, they'd stopped calling it anything and just started writing his name down.
